Batman's The Siren

Lorelei Circe truely loved music (appropriately enough). But she dated a man who, before she knew his true colors, hated music. So much so that he would mercilessly berate her over it. He would also laugh at the idea of her taking up a career in music and also forbid it. Lorelei decided to do it anyhow but keep it a secret and try not to have word get out, either by strangers who seen her act (which she'd pay handsomely not to mention), or a newspaper headline. She was a success overnight and she felt loved for once after she got a warm reception. Unfortunately her, her boyfriend found out right before she had plans to dump the jerk from an article. The boyfriend beat Lorelei a bit and elbowed the poor woman's throat at one point. Just before doing any more harm to the woman, Lorelei screamed, except it doesn't sound like one but a beep. Revealed to be a late blooming metahuman, Lorelei's powers awoke as she screamed. The beep froze him in place like he was in a trance. She then told him to jump off a roof and he obeyed to her surprise. She was shocked that the weird noise made him do that. Lorelei tried forgetting about it and tried to get back to her singing career only to find that the beep noise came out again and hypnotize men in the audience. The women weren't hypnotized, so they complained why their suitors were staring off into space. They soon blamed this Siren and jeered at her and ended up where she began. She grew to hate them back and decided that if they hate her now, she'll make them fear her too.
